Brefeldin a use
Brefeldin A is a lactone antiviral produced by the fungus Penicillium brefeldianum. Brefeldin A inhibits protein transport from the endoplasmic reticulum to the golgi complex indirectly by preventing association of COP-I coat to the Golgi membrane. Brefeldin A was initially isolated with hopes to become an antiviral drug but is now primarily used in research to study protein transport. WebBrefeldin A (BFA) is a natural fungal metabolite which has been used extensively to study intracellular transport by vesicles or endosomes. Early studies demonstrated that BFA reversibly interferes with protein trafficking and secretion mediated by the Golgi apparatus and endoplasmic reticulum. 1,2,3 BFA directly and reversibly inhibits Sec7 domain …

WebResults: In this study, we report on the effect of brefeldin A (BFA), an inhibitor of vesicle trafficking, on internodal cells of Chara australis. BFA induced the commonly observed agglomeration of Golgi bodies and trans Golgi network into 'brefeldin compartments' at concentrations between 6 and 500 μM and within 30-120 min treatment. favorite backpacking snacksWebBrefeldin A (BFA) C16H24O4 CID 6436187 - structure, chemical names, physical and chemical properties, classification, patents, literature, biological activities, … friedrich ws08d10aWebBrefeldin A Exocytosis Golgi Most recent answer 15th Sep, 2014 Jozsef Vigh Colorado State University Hello Emma, We used a drug called EXO-1 (Tocris) to prevent release of glutamate from retinal... favorite baby shower gamesWebBrefeldin A is a protein transport inhibitor that increases intracellular cytokine staining signals by blocking transport processes during activation of a cell.
