The Rothbarth method, however, must assume that the presence of children in the household has no direct effect on the utility that adults derive from consuming their adult goods. Webbehind the Rothbarth method (initially designed to elicit the resources accruing to chil-dren) and the use of exclusive goods, i.e. goods consumed by certain type of individual in the household (e.g. adult women™s clothing).
